In our fellowship prayer has been, and continues to be, a cornerstone of all our work within the church and the community. Normally our weekday service on the first of the month would be given over to prayer, giving thanks and praise to God, and focusing on issues within the fellowship and broader afield such as missions etc. (During the pandemic these meetings have been held on Zoom)
On the 7th October, our fellowship is holding a full ‘Day of Prayer’ individually in our homes. During September, we will be reading and prayerfully studying John chapters 13 & 14 along with a commentary by our Pastor and considering the following questions;
- What is God saying to me personally through the ministry in John?
- In what ways has God encouraged me?
- How has God used His Word to challenge me?
As an aid we will keep a journal where we will record our thoughts as we strive to answer these questions. Journaling is a great aid when reading the Bible as it allows you to record anything that strikes you during your readings and may even become a springboard for even deeper study.
