Vacancy – Assistant Pastor

Vacancy – Assistant Pastor

Our church is gospel driven with evangelistic events built into the church life.  We seek to take the message of salvation into the locality and we have an extensive programme of clubs and activities catering for all ages from preschool to retired.

Bible exposition is the foundation of our Christian lives and ministries and this motivates us to love, obey, serve, and glorify God.  The church has 60 members and is both socially and ethnically diverse, which will prove to be a useful context for gaining experience for future ministry.  We are looking to appoint an Assistant Pastor.

The role will be flexible to fit the man appointed and this includes:

  • Involvement in the Children and Youth work in particular; as well as all aspects of church life.
  • Pastoral work.
  • Preaching as required on Sundays in the church, as well as at other churches as he has opportunities.
  • Involvement in the church’s outreach to the local community.

We are a welcoming church who is united by our commitment to Jesus as Lord and Saviour and our desire to glorify God in our local community, but have a number of contacts with outreach and ministry in the UK and overseas.

At our main meetings we sing, pray, and seek to meet with God as His word is taught. We also want to share our lives together as God’s family in Christ and be equipped to reach out.

Required Skills

Ideally applicants will have completed Theological Training and be looking for a few years as an assistant before moving on to a Pastorate. We would view the post as a training role, and our Pastor and Leadership Team will be committed to mentoring and encouraging the Assistant Pastor.
