The blessing of Christ’s absence!
Jesus had again told the disciples of the hardships they could expect when He had returned to the Father, but then He began to encourage them with the blessings they would know and benefit from because He had returned to the Father. He tells them of the blessings of the work and person of the Holy Spirit in all their lives and all the situations they would encounter. The same words of comfort and encouragement are true for all believers through the ages and in our age. We are not abandoned and left helpless, but we have the blessing of the work and person of God the Holy Spirit in and for our lives.

The Angry Prophet!
We start today looking at and through the book of Jonah. Some call it ‘a whale of a tale’; others ‘a fishy fairy tale’. Jesus spoke of it as history! There is much to learn from this account of some incidents in Jonah’s life that will be applicable to our lives – to both challenge us concerning our obedience to God’s word and about our attitude concerning those we wish to know of God’s way of salvation. This book of Jonah will search our hearts and attitudes. Today we start with an introduction and overview of the book of Jonah.
