The Commission and the City. (Jonah 1:1-2)

Rev Gareth JamesRev Gareth James, May 2, 2021
Part of the Jonah series, preached at a Sunday Evening service

Jonah, as a prophet of the Lord was used by God to minister to the kingdom of Israel (the 10 northern tribes), but in this book of Jonah we learn he was called to leave Israel, go to and minister to Nineveh, the capital city of Israel’s sworn enemy Assyria (Aram). Jonah had a sneaky suspicion that God intended good to Nineveh no matter how dark and judgemental his message was.
