The Holy Spirit's work in the Church (part 1) (John 16:12-15)

Rev Gareth JamesRev Gareth James, May 16, 2021
Part of the The Upper Room series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Jesus was aware how the disciples were feeling – facing a future without Him was a fearful prospect, but He tells them of the Holy Spirit’s work in the world and also in the Church. He would guide them into all truth as they were used – including penning more of God’s inspired word. Yet we too are guided and this divine Guide provided as we read God’s word, for He is still working in us as believers – not with revelation of anything new, but illumination of what has been written by the apostles in the New Testament and the prophets in the Old Testament.
