The cost of Discipleship (Luke 14:25-35)

Tom RestonTom Reston, May 8, 2022
Part of the Guest Speakers series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

The Bible never promises that it will be easy to follow Christ and be a disciple. True servants must be willing to surrender time, energy, personal comfort and sometimes money in order to please the Master and help others. Because there are costs to being a disciple, nobody can be recruited by arm twisting or manipulation. Becoming a disciple is a voluntary commitment, kept only by those who realise the demands and are willing to pay the cost. Of course, strong benefits come to the followers of Christ.
