A progressive, but fixed faith. (Genesis 12:1-9)Rev Gareth James, September 18, 2022
Part of the Abraham in Genesis series, preached at a Sunday Evening service
Last time we considered Abram’s great call by God - it called him from great darkness, called him to great trust and called him with great promises.
Abram was delayed there in Haran - some suggest for 5 years while others say 15 years. There was no pushing on in obedience to God, but he was delayed at Haran until his father’s death. Then it seems Abram’s call is renewed and he, no longer having his father to care for, is free to fulfil the desire to go on in obedience to his God.
